DCC Winter series Race 4 is on this Sunday at franklin! The weather looks good. Who would believe that it is still winter! The DCC Winter series is part of the Stellar Tasmanian Winter series. Stellar have donated a ski to be raffled amongst competitors in the northern and southern winter series. You will earn a ticket in the raffle for every race you compete in. Here is your chance to keep race fit over winter and prepare for the Freycinet Challenges. Have fun while developing paddling techniques and important race skills such as mass starts and drafting. Safety boat will be in attendance. Winter is the perfect time to concentrate on your technique and your ability to maintain good technique over a distance. WHO: There is a division for every paddler. 3 divisions: Elite, Intermediate and novice. Sea kayaks will start with the novice group. The elite division will be competing for the coveted “King of the Huon” trophy. WHEN: Last Sunday in the month August 31st and September 28th. Venues to be advised. Note Winter Challenge has been cancelled for this year, Freycinet Challenge is on October 11/ 12th. TIME: Pre-Race briefing at 9.30AM. Race start at 10.00AM with divisions leaving at 5 minute intervals. Presentations and spot prize draw after each race. WHERE: Race 4 is at Franklin next Sunday june 29th. Other venues will be determined according to conditions. We will be using various locations to give you the best paddling conditions on the day. DCC (or other Canoe Australia) membership compulsory (available on the day), Warm paddling clothes and change of clothes. Volunteers to drive the safety boat are most welcome!
